#2017MyYear: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

2017 has been one hell of year. Readings wise it has sucked. I only read 33 books. But I read some amazing ones. Personally? There have been ups and downs. I have had some great times with great people. I have laughed and cried. Had my heart broken and made so many mistakes. But, I don't think I would change any of it. Including all the bad decisions because let's face it those bad decisions were fucking fun to make. Lol.

However, let's focus on all the good time shall we??

June

Dirty Dancing

That's right. I took my mum to her favourite movie on stage and it was something else. It was fantastic  I grew up on Dirty Dancing, even though my dad didn't let me watch it as a child but my mum did. LOL. And it really does explain how I dance as an adult lol. Seeing it on stage was amazing. It was funny and sexy!!! I hope we get to see it again.

July

Ben Montieth

Ben is a Glasgow musician. He is outstanding. His voice gives me chills. He is handsome and talent and I hope he goes far. Getting a chance to see him in Classic Grand in a proper gig was phenomenal. You can usually find him busking in Glasgow city centre but seeing him in on stage was completely different. You can get his albums on itunes/google play etc. His original music is fantastic and his song "Home" hits me in the feels.

September
Grease

Grease is my favourite movie of all time. My wifey (my best friend lol) took me to see Grease in the Edinburgh Playhouse. I was ill, I had no voice and a dodgy stomach but let you tell you. It did not stop me having a great time and enjoying the show. I had never seen it on stage before and it did not disappoint at all.

October
My Baby Boy Turned 11.

That's right my boy turned 11 years old. I still can't believe it sometimes. I still remember bringing him home from the hospital like it was yesterday. Now he's 11 years old. Growing up too fast. Big and cheeky.

Welcome to the World Keelin.

My niece Keelin finally arrived! A proud moment for everyone. She is so precious and my son adores her. He is a great big cousin and that little girl is going to grow up surrounded by love.

Bestie Tattoos.

After years of saying we would do it. We finally done. We got our shark fin tattoos. I   haven't got a photo of two of them together which I am sure I can fix at some point but we finally got matching tattoos. Silly little tattoos but for us means a lot.

November
Five & 911

Another present from my bestie. She got me tickets to go see my favourite childhood band FIVE. 911 I only really knew one song but FIVE I know them all. Sadly my bestie couldn't make but my friend Sarah came along and had a great time.

December
The 8th Circle Tattoo.

For years I have wanted this as a tattoo. And one day I was sitting on my break at work and just decided I needed it now.  I booked myself in a few days later with Antonio and there you go.  It's just a simple tattoo but I love it. And one of the favourite things about the tattoo is that the author commented on the post. Nothing big just a simple comment and I fan girled like crazy. She is one my fave author!!!

Always Tattoo
You should know by now that I love Harry Potter. I grow up on the books and the movies. For years I knew I needed some sort of tattoo for it. When I seen this one I knew it was it. I showed my bestie when we were in getting our shark fins and she booked me in. I am so in love with it.

Tiffany Reisz

And something else magical happened that. Tiffany Reisz started following me in instagram and liked my Always tattoo post!!! You have no idea how much of a screaming fan girl I turned into that moment. LOL.

Christmas 2017

Christmas was a quiet time of us. But a great time. The Kid got spoiled as usual. He got everything he asked for aswell as some surprises. I have no idea where I am going to put everything but it's worth it to see his face. 2017 would bethe  last year he gets a lot as he is getting older and everything is so expensive. I am dreading Christmas 2018 although I already know what I am getting him. Lol.

So that's just a few of my highlights of 2017. I can honestly say I had a good year for the most part. I won't say much about the bad stuff because there was plenty and a few are actually attached to my best parts which makes one or two bittersweet. However, If you know me you will know the bad decisions are always fun. I am not ashamed of who I am. I regret nothing. I put my heart out there and few times got it crushed but it makes me who I am. I have made some massive mistakes but I keep making them and in all honestly will probably make them in 2018 again but hey, that's me.

Hope you all had a great 2017 and that 2018 will hopefully be even better.

#BookReview: Allegedly by Tiffany D Jackson

Do you know how hard is it to review this book without spoilers?!?! It's SOOOOOOOO hard!!! I want to talk about it. Really talk about and I can't! Just read the book!!!
GO, read the book.
NO! Wait!!
Not yet silly!
Stay and read my review first. Lol.

Title: Allegedly
Format: eBook
Pages: 400
Published: 24th Jan 2017
Publisher: Katherine
Source: Bought
Genre: YA, Mystery, Contemporary
Shelfability:  COVET

About The Book
Orange Is the New Black meets Walter Dean Myer's Monster in this gritty, twisty, and haunting debut by Tiffany D. Jackson about a girl convicted of murder seeking the truth while surviving life in a group home. Mary B. Addison killed a baby. Allegedly. She didn't say much in that first interview with detectives, and the media filled in the only blanks that mattered: a white baby had died while under the care of a churchgoing black woman and her nine-year-old daughter. The public convicted Mary and the jury made it official. But did she do it? There wasn't a point to setting the record straight before, but now she's got Ted-and their unborn child-to think about. When the state threatens to take her baby, Mary's fate now lies in the hands of the one person she distrusts the most: her Momma. No one knows the real Momma. But does anyone know the real Mary?

To say that "Allegedly" was an easy read probably isn't the best word to use. But it was. It was a very easy read. It was easy to get lost in. It was easy to stay up until the wee hours to finish the book. It was easy to get into the characters minds. The plot itself was not easy. Gripping would be the best word I could use. Gripping, gritty and with some major plot twists!!!

Nine year old Mary Killed a baby. Allegedly. She didn't really say much when she was questioned. However, now she is fifteen with her own unborn baby to think about she is now determined to set the record straight about what happened that tragic night. Will the truth come out about what really happen to little Alyssa?

Get it? Hooked? *chuckles*
I was completely hooked onto this books from the moment I read the blurb I just knew it was going to be a book that would really get you thinking and it was. It's full of twists and turns that I honestly did not see coming. I thought I knew exactly where the story was going than BAM!!! The author would flip the story and take it somewhere completely different.

Now the characters in the story aren't exactly easy to like. And I think that's a very important part of the story telling. You aren't meant to like them. You are meant to hate them and fear them. Just like Mary does. However, you do see little parts of the each girl that live in that house that aren't too bad and you get understand them a little better.  Mary herself is a tough one. My feelings on her changed so much as the story progressed. She goes through so much between what happens to her in the house at the hands of the other girls. From her Momma to her boyfriend Ted. You do feel sympathy for her.

Allegedly is without a doubt an outstanding novel by Tiffany D Jackson. She has took a story that is so uncomfortable and heartbreaking and makes into a stunning debut that is will stay with you for a while after finishing it because the ending of this haunting story will leave you shocked.

#MovieNews: Beauty and The Beast (2017)

Movie: Beauty and the Beast (Live Action Remake)
Cert: PG
Release: 17th March 2017
Genre: Family, Romance, Musical
Directors:  Bill Condon
WritersEvan Spiliotopoulos (screenplay), Stephen Chbosky (screenplay) | 2 more credits »

About The Movie:
Belle is a girl who is dissatisfied with life in a small provincial French town, constantly trying to fend off the misplaced "affections" of conceited Gaston. The Beast is a prince who was placed under a spell because he could not love. A wrong turn taken by Maurice, Belle's father, causes the two to meet. (IMDb 1991 Edition)

For while all we had was the image of Belle reaching for the rose. So when they finally released move images online I was overjoyed. I am so excited for this to come alive on screen. Beauty and the Beast is one of THE best disney movies ever made.

I know everyone has already seen them but still couldn't resist. I am so looking forward to this and Emma Watson is just perfect for the role. I also have a big soft spot for Dan Stevens, going back to his Downton Abby days. (Oh Matthew. Trying to not cry, ignore the feels and breathe) He is going to rock as The Beast/Prince Adam.

And Luke Evans as Gaston? Bloody perfect!! He actually looks like the cartoon Gaston.

While Beauty and The Beast isn't my ultimate favourite disney movie (That's Peter Pan) it is in the top 5!! I think that may have a lot to do with library though lol. I have read a lot of mix reviews on Belle's dress already. I don't care if it's gold or yellow. I love it no matter. It's stunning and I want one!!

I am loving the disney remakes just now. And I am excited by this so much. It’s making me wonder what other movies they will turn into live action.

Which disney movie would you love to see being remade into a live action movie??
