Description:
Jodi Marshall isn’t sure how she went from normal teenager to walking disaster. One minute she’s in her junior year of high school, spending time with her amazing boyfriend and her best friend. The next she’s being stalked by some guy no one seems to know. After the stranger, Alex, reveals himself, Jodi learns he’s not a normal teenager and neither is she. With a kiss that kills and a touch that brings the dead back to life, Jodi discovers she’s part of a branch of necromancers born under the 13th sign of the zodiac, Ophiuchus. A branch of necromancers that are descendents of Medusa. A branch of necromancers with poisoned blood writhing in their veins. Jodi’s deadly to the living and even more deadly to the deceased. She has to leave her old, normal life behind before she hurts the people she loves. As if that isn’t difficult enough, Jodi discovers she’s the chosen one who has to save the rest of her kind from perishing at the hands of Hades. If she can’t figure out how to control her power, history will repeat itself, and her race will become extinct.
Review:
Greek Mythology seems to very popular in YA fiction at the moment. I have to admit I haven't read much and I don't really know a lot about it. I think I did a term in primary school at about age 10 but that was about it. Over the years I have picked up some info by watching movies and tv shows, enough to know it is something I enjoy learning about. And of course reading about. Touch of Death is one of the best YA novels I have read that deals with Greek Mythology

Touch of Death is about Jodi Marshall, she is in her junior year in high school, has an amazing boyfriend and an amazing best friend. However, all that changes when weird incidents start happening around her. And after she meets Alex, she learns that she is part of a group of Necromancers and a descendent of Medusa. She must learn who to control her powers to save her kind from Hades but will she be able to control them in time?

WOW!! Touch of Death is action pact from page one! It never slows down at all. I read it in about three hours because the wiriting was flawless and truely grips you.. I only have one negative and I want to get it out the way. Even those I seriously loved the story I felt like the story only lasted a few days, everything happens over a very short space of time and that made it feel just a tad unrealistic for me. But other than that the story itself was EPIC!!

Touch of Death is such a unqiue read! I haven't read any novels that have Medusa in them. I have always thought Medusa was fascinating and I like how the author takes Medusa and creates her legend into something new for me.  To have our main character a descendent of Medusa is amazing and make the story all the more enticing. Jodi, I loved from page one. You really get to go on an emotional rollcoaster as she discovers who she is and what she can do. When Alex turns up in her life, at first she thinks he is stalking her but really he is trying to protect her. There is a connection between them but it's not a full blown romance which is great because it doesn't over shadow the story and the character development of Jodi.

The plot is outstanding and different. There is never a slow or boring moment. It is packed with action and twists and turns that keep the readers glued to the pages. One of the big things that made it different and intriguing was the backstory behind the necromancers and how they came about. I love that the author uses the 13th Sign of Zodiac, Ophiuchus. That is my Zodiac sign now and thought that just made the story that extra bit more special!! I honestly haven't read up on the sign that much but I do know that Kelly has really did her research because I have read about Ophiuchus and who he came about in Greek Mythology.

Touch is Death is truely an amazing and unique read. It gets you on the first page and doesn't let go until you finish the book. I devoured the book within three hour. I urge you all you have a read when this comes out. It will blow you away and leave you begging for more. Roll on book two!
