Description:
Big-hearted Chloe Camden is the queen of her universe until her best friend shreds her reputation and her school counselor axes her junior independent study project. Chloe is forced to take on a meaningful project in order to pass, and so she joins her school’s struggling radio station, where the other students don’t find her too queenly. Ostracized by her former BFs and struggling with her beloved Grams’s mental deterioration, lonely Chloe ends up hosting a call-in show that gets the station much-needed publicity and, in the end, trouble. She also befriends radio techie and loner Duncan Moore, a quiet soul with a romantic heart. On and off the air, Chloe faces her loneliness and helps others find the fun and joy in everyday life. Readers will fall in love with Chloe as she falls in love with the radio station and the misfits who call it home

Review:
Welcome, Caller, this is Chloe is one of those perfect reads that you need once in a while. It's cute, fun and very quick but it also deals with a lot of serious issues that teens today have to face on daily basis. And that just makes the story feel real and honest. A real breath of fresh air.

Welcome, follows Chloe, a junior in high school who has a serious thing for shoes. Her friends have turned on her, her JISP project was scrapped by the new guidance counselor and she is forced into a new project helping the school radio station where she doesn't feel like she belong and to top it all off she is always stuck in the middle of the on going battle between her mother and granmother. Chloe is one of those rare characters in YA fiction that is a genuinely happy person. Even when life is getting her down she is the type of person you can count on to make everyone smile. She goes on a journey in the book. Starting out at Queen Bee, then being turned on but with the help of the staff at the radio station she discovers who she really is and make amazing and wacky friend along the way. The friends she makes at the radio station really help her grow. The relationship that slowly develops between Chloe and Duncan was very sweet and caring but it didn't overshadow the main story it was just a nice extra.
The story itself is one that I think is mainly about self discovery and growing up. And aside from the fun and witty humour, it deals with some serious issues such has drugs and Parkinson's disease. As well as friendships breaking down. I was automatically gripped by the story and read it within one day it was so good. It felt real. And when Chloe was having to deal with rumours and whispers she kept her head up. A real role model for young girls. Because in real life the people you think are your friends can easily turn on you.

My only thing I didn't like was her  friends. I understand why her friends were mad at her but what they did was just horrible and they had blown the problem up to 100 times more that it really was.  Maybe I just couldn't relate to them in way. I was never one for Teen Drama. Yes, I had fights with my friends but we never let it damage our friendships so maybe I just don't get it. lol.
Shelly has created a sold debut novel that girl of any age can enjoy and take something away from it after reading no matter your age whether your 13 or 31. You will love this and the characters just as much as I did. :)

I highly recommend you pick this up if you are looking for something quick and fresh. It will captive your heart and leave you feeling happy. It's a great pick me up book. Guaranteed to put a smile on face.

  1. I honestly have no idea how many pairs of shoes I own, I really don't want to count them!
But if I had to guess, probably around 30-35.

  6. I am not really a show person although I do have about 10 pairs. I am more of a book person or a pen person.
