She's writing about him. He's writing about her. And everybody is reading between the lines..

For Erin Blackwell, majoring in creative writing at the New York City college of her dreams is more than a chance to fulfill her ambitions--it's her ticket away from the tragic memories that shadow her family's racehorse farm in Kentucky. But when she refuses to major in business and take over the farm herself someday, her grandmother gives Erin's college tuition and promised inheritance to their maddeningly handsome stable boy, Hunter Allen. Now Erin has to win an internship and work late nights at a coffee shop to make her own dreams a reality. She should despise Hunter . . . so why does he sneak into her thoughts as the hero of her latest writing assignment?

Then, on the day she's sharing that assignment with her class, Hunter walks in. He's joining her class. And after he reads about himself in her story, her private fantasies about him must be painfully clear. She only hopes to persuade him not to reveal her secret to everyone else. But Hunter devises his own creative revenge, writing sexy stories that drive the whole class wild with curiosity and fill Erin's heart with longing. Now she's not just imagining what might have been. She's writing a whole new ending for her romance with Hunter . . . except this story could come true.

Review:
Love Story by Jennifer Echols was not your average chick-lit romance. It was so much more! Jennifer Echols crafted a plot so wonderfully developed that I actually felt like I knew the characters and their world.

Love Story is centered around Erin Blackwell, a college freshman, who has been recently disinherited by her grandmother because she does not want to major in business and run the family's horse farm. Instead she wants to become a novelist. We soon find out that her grandmother has given Erin's college tuition and farm inheritance to the stable boy, Hunter Allen, because he has remained loyal to the farm.

This fuels Erin's emotions and she begins to use her writing as an outlet. Her first story for her creative writing class is a historical romance about a wealthy girl and the family farm's stable boy and their forbidden secret tryst. What Erin wasn't expecting was Hunter to show up as the new student on the day that story was to be read aloud and be critiqued by the class.

From that day on, Erin and Hunter begin writing their stories for class and begin writing between the lines...about each other. Their feelings begin to deepen and their past begins to unravel.

Jennifer Echols' writing style will appeal to readers of chick-lit and romance alike, yet her novel remains unique as she peppers in her character's creative writing as well, which adds another level of dimension to the novel. The story is filled with the perils of a girl's first year in college, balancing school and work, and finding first love. The story is so believable and the characters are so easy to relate to that it was like reliving my first year of college! I am looking forward to reading the rest of Jennifer Echols' books!

  4. Love Story is a bitter sweet romance that will take readers on a breathtaking journey. This is a story about two drastically different character from the same world. Erin is the wealthy Granddaughter that is an heir to endless wealth. Raised by her Grandmother on a horse ranch; she is being groomed to take over the family business.
