Description:
Sophie Mercer thought she was a witch. That was the whole reason she was sent to Hex Hall, a reform school for delinquent Prodigium (a.k.a. witches, shape-shifters, and faeries). But then she discovered the family secret, and the fact that her hot crush, Archer Cross, is an agent for The Eye, a group bent on wiping Prodigium off the face of the earth.

Turns out, Sophie's a demon, one of only two in the world-the other being her father. What's worse, she has powers that threaten the lives of everyone she loves. Which is precisely why Sophie decides she must go to London for the Removal, a dangerous procedure that will either destroy her powers for good-or kill her.

But once Sophie arrives, she makes a shocking discovery. Her new housemates? They're demons too. Meaning, someone is raising demons in secret, with creepy plans to use their powers, and probably not for good. Meanwhile, The Eye is set on hunting Sophie down, and they're using Archer to do it. But it's not like she has feelings for him anymore. Does she?
MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FROM PREVIOUS BOOK

I read Hex Hall at the end of last year/start of this year and I adored it. I don't know why I have only just read book two because I have all three. I find these books fun and exciting but where I completely loved book one, I thought that even though Demonglass is very good and I really enjoyed it I found it a bit disappointing. :(

At the end of Hex Hall Sophie finds out that she is not a witch but a demon. Her powers have the potiental to be explosive so she decides that she wants to go through with the Removel and strip her magic powers. However, her father decides that she is to spend the summer with him in hopes that he can change her mind. So she heads to England taking Jenna and Cal along with way. But when she gets to England she realises things aren't quite as they seem and poor Sophie in for one hell of a ride, physically and emotionally.

Demonglass was such a great read. I do love a good supernatual story.  I felt like I was revisiting old friends. Sophie, haha I love her. She is so snarky that I felt like I was reading myself.  She is still as kickass as ever but I did find her a little annoying when it came to Archer. Now I really liked Archer in Hex Hall but after what happened in Hex Hall I went right off him. I don't care how many times he saves Sophie I don't like him anymore. Cal on the other hand........aw sweet sweet Cal. He is lovely. Very Shy but he is hot as hell. He cares for Sophie. I can see a love triangle blooming with those three.

Demonglass is every bit as action packed and exciting as Hex Hall. However, I don't know, it felt like it was messing the spark that first book had. The plot was thrilling and unique, the characters were fantastic. The chemistry between everyone was perfect. But I don't know it just didn't feel as amazing as Hex Hall. Maybe it was the setting...I honestly can't really put my finger on it. However, it was still wonderful and fast paced read that had me hooked from page one.

I sat last night in bed and read the full book. Usually with a book over 300 pages I will take me a night or two but Rachel Hawkins has such a way with words that you instantly forget everything around you and get completely engrossed in the tale. She keeps the readers guessing all the way through and takes them on a magical rollercoaster of a ride.

I can not recommend this series enough!!! It is outstanding, fun and thrilling. It has the right mixure of action, romance and magic with witches, demons, vampires and warlocks what is not to love??

  1. I totally loved this series! I just wished it didn't have to end with book three . . . since I'm missing the characters already. Anyway, great review! I can't wait to hear what you think of the third and final book! :)
