UK vs US: If I Die

Photobucket

Most of you know I have been doing this since I started the blog. I love comparing different covers for the same book. So now that there is two of us on the blog I thought I would actually make it a regular feature on a Monday and a Friday. And since Destiny is from the US and Siobhan is from the UK it would even better. So here is todays UK vs US.

If I Die (Soul Screamers #5) by Rachel Vincent
US: 27th Sept 2011
UK: 3rd Feb 2012
No one wants to be this teacher’s pet . . .

Everyone else is talking about Eastlake High’s gorgeous new math teacher, Mr. Beck, but Kaylee Cavanaugh has bigger things on her mind. Kaylee’s a banshee—her scream is a portent of death. But the next scream might hit too close to home. Kaylee’s borrowed lifeline has almost run out. Yeah—it’s a shock to her, too. So to distract herself from her own problems, Kaylee is determined to defend her school against the latest supernatural threat. That hot new teacher is really an incubus, who feeds from the desire of unsuspecting students. The only girls immune to his lure are Kaylee and Sabine, her boyfriend’s delinquent ex-girlfriend. Now the unlikely allies have to get rid of Mr. Beck…before he discovers they aren’t quite human either. But Kaylee’s running out of time, and those who love her will do anything to save her life.
Anything.
Soul Screamers: The last thing you hear before you die

Siobhan: This is actually quite hard for me. Usually I always ago for the UK covers for this series because they are stunning and this is no exception its beautiful. But I really like the green of the US cover and the dress I love that dress. However, I don't like the font they use on the US coveres at all. I don't know why it just doesn't look nice as at. So I'm going with the UK cover.

Destiny: The US cover is dark and eery with the green and black cover, but the UK cover adds a dark whimsical touch with the dragonfly which I love. I haven't read this series yet - I have the first book - and after seeing a UK cover, I am definitely partial to it! The contrast of light and dark plays so well against the plot that I want to read it even more!

Winner: UK

  4. Gotta say this one is a tough one. I really like the US one. The colors just pop out. The UK one i like because of the dragonfly and the side shot of the girls head. Going to go with UK on this one.

  9. I am shocked that I will once again have to go with the US cover. It doesn't happen often but I really just love the contrast of the black and green. It's that little bit more bold and eye catching to me :)
