Description:
Meghan Chase has never fit in at her small-town high school, and now, on the eve of her 16th birthday, she discovers why. When her half brother is kidnapped, Meghan is drawn into a fantastical world she never imagined--the world of Faery, where anything you see may try to eat you, and Meghan is the daughter of the summer faery king. Now she will journey into the depths of Faery to face an unknown enemy . . . and beg the help of a winter prince who might as soon kill her as let her touch his icy heart.

Review:
The Iron King was a struggle at first for me. I honestly don't why but I think I reread that first chapter about five times trying to get into. However, I finally managed to push on and I was hooked. It didn't take me long before I devoured it the entire novel and now I have to wait for the next one.

The story takes Meghan on a journey into a world she never know exsisted trying to rescue her younger brother. I had a love/hate relationship with Meghan, on the plus she is tackles her journey head on even though it scares her being there and she truely loves her brother. However, at times I thought she a little bit of a hypocrite because she doesn't like to be a girl who is girlie and spends ages putting make up on. However, she lusts after a boy, why? Simply because he is cute and a jock. Her character isn't the best out there and is somewhat predictable, especially when it came to meeting Prince Ash. Who I have to admit even though he is good looking, and sometimes really nice. He drove me crazy. One minute he was ice cold the next he was being nice. He is a very interesting character though and I can't wait to see whats instore for him. My favourite character is Puck though. Aw he is just funny, lovely and its easy to see he adores Meghan.

The story itself was just memorising once I got into it. There is alot of action in throughout the story so there not alot of dull moments. With Julie's enchanting writing it was like watching a movie. Lots of details about the world of Faery that blow my mind. Its simply wonderful.

Julie has create such a beautiful, magical world full of all different kinds of mythical creatures that will have you begging for more.
