Description:
For seventeen years, Eloise Hart had no idea the world of Faery even existed. Now she has been abducted and trapped in the Rath of Lord Strahan, King of Faery. Strahan was only meant to rule for seven years, as Faery tradition dictates, and then give up his crown to another. But he won't comply, and now chaos threatens both worlds.

The only one who can break his stranglehold on the Faery court is his wife. . . Eloise's aunt Antonia. Using Eloise to lure Antonia, Strahan captures his wife, desperate to end the only threat to his reign. Now Eloise must become the rescuer. Together with her best friends Jo and Devin, she must forge alliances with other Fae, including a gorgeous protector named Lucas, and Strahan's mysterious son, Eldric—who may or may not betray them

Review:
Eloise doesn't know that Fae exist. Not until the handsome Lucas appears and wants to take her away. However, Eloise doesn't believe him and soon she finds herself being kidnapped by Strahan, King of Faery. He uses her to entice his wife; Eloise's aunt Antonia, to return to the rath. Soon Eloise is wrapped up in the faery world, fightening for survival and with the help of her best friends, they set out to save the faery world.

There is no denying that Alyxandra Harvey is a fantastic writter. She manages to blend just the right amount of adventure, danger, romance and humour into her books. And even though I adore her work usually. I didn't enjoy this as much as her other books. Quite simply because I am not a big fan of Faeries.

Stolen Away is told from two POV's Eloise and her best friend Jo. Both have very different voices and very different personalities. Eloise comes across as the serious one. Tough on the outside but deep down she isn't. Jo is a big flirt. I loved it. She is fun and very witty. Together they balance each other out and make the story really easily to follow. Through into the mix the third best friend, Dev. He is a big geek its adorable! He is lovely and really cares for the girls.

The story never slows. It's action packed from the start which will draw you into the book and not be able to put the book down. Especially when Jo meets Eldric, WOW. The chemistry between the two of them is probably what made me keep reading. To find out what was going to happen between them.

As I mention above I am not a faery lover. I never have been and don't think I will. I enjoyed the book. But I just didn't love it. I have read a few Fae books and yes, I have enjoyed them but not loved. I'm more of a vampire girl! So usually I wouldn't be in rush to read a faery book, but its Alyxandra Harvey! She is one of my favourite authors and I will read anything that she write :)

If you love faeries, then I know you are going to love this book. It's fun, sassy, smart and full of adventure. And the ending, oh lordy! It a perfect ending but set up nicely that there could be a book 2 (let's hope there is).

Blood Feud (Drake Chronicles #2) by Alyxandra Harvey

Publisher: Bloomsbury
Genre: YA Paranormal
Buy: Amazon UK Amazon US

Description:
It has been centuries since Isabeau St. Croix survived the French Revolution. Now she's made her way back to the living and must face the ultimate test by confronting the evil British lord who turned her into a vampire and left her buried for two hundred years. That's if she can control her affection for Logan Drake, a vampire whose bite is as sweet as the revenge she seeks...

Review:
Alyxandra Harvey is becoming one of my favourite YA authors. The Drake Chronicles are nothing short of amazing. They are fun, sassy, witty and explosive.

Blood Feud follows the story of Isabeau and Logan. Both vampires but Logan was born a vampire and Isabeau was made and left buried for two hundred years. Now she is out for revenge on the man to made her into a vampire. But there is one small thing getting in her way, Logan Drake.

The second in the Drake Chronicles is every bit as wicked as book one. And I like how each book focuses on a different Drake brother and their love interest. Isabeau comes across like a tough chick and that is fantastic we don't get enough of that in YA but sometimes she can come across quite stiff (I think) and I just wanted her to lighten up a bit.Although her relationship with lovely Logan is a perfect balance and they match which is always good.

Blood Feud grips you from page one. It's one of those book you completely lose yourself in the story and the characters. However, I must admit I missed Lucy and Nicholas. They are in the book and they are still as funny as ever but there just isn't enough of them for me. They are the reason I loved book one.

Overall, Blood Feud is a worthly sequel for My Love Lies Bleeding. It's fast paced, action packed and quite sweet but not overally romantic. So if you haven't read this series yet go pick up a book you will not be disappointed :)

Prologue

Connor

“The fact that we have to fetch our baby sister home because she’s out later than we are is just sad,” Quinn grumbled.

“Gives me a chance to check out these dishes though,” I said from halfway up an old-growth cedar. The trunk, mossy and glittering with gold-dust lichen, was big enough to support half a dozen tree houses. I was perched comfortably on one of its many massive branches, repositioning the angle of a hidden satellite dish. “What’s it say now?”

Quinn refreshed the screen on my laptop from down among the roots. They were like an old woman’s gnarled fingers from this perspective. “Looks good,” he called up.

I tweaked it anyway and double-checked it on my iPhone link before climbing down the branches as if they were steps. “That was the last one for this section,” I said, taking the last six feet in one leap. “I’ll have to disable the other ones. They might be in range of the camp.” I’d have to patrol nightly as well to block any new signals, even if the encampment was right up against the mountain and it was highly unlikely.

I knew that for a fact.

I’d already tried.

A lot.

The Blood Moon was a rare vampire gathering, and no Internet or cell phones were permitted for security’s sake. I wasn’t looking forward to that part. I mean, I don’t care about the diehards who run around in corsets or fifteenth-century plate armor to represent their lineages, but the lack of Internet access is just barbaric.

“I have a phone full of hot girls’ phone numbers, Connor,” Quinn remarked as I stashed my equipment in the pack on my motorcycle. “Before I delete them you should totally put the identical twin thing to good use.”

I rolled my eyes. “Twin or not, no one’s going to believe I’m you.”

“Well, not if you show up in a Star Trek T-shirt.”

Okay, yes, I have watched every episode of every Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, and Stargate ever created, but I have never owned a Star Trek T-shirt.

Just saying.
