Description:
What do you do if you're in trouble?

When Michelle runs away from her drug-addicted mother, she has just enough money to make it to New York City, where she hopes to move in with a friend. But once she arrives at the bustling Port Authority, she is confronted with the terrifying truth: she is alone and out of options.

Then she meets Devon, a good-looking, well-dressed guy who emerges from the crowd armed with a kind smile, a place for her to stay, and eyes that seem to understand exactly how she feels.

But Devon is not what he seems to be, and soon Michelle finds herself engulfed in the world of child prostitution where he becomes her “Daddy” and she his “Little Peach.” It is a world of impossible choices, where the line between love and abuse, captor and saviour, is blurred beyond recognition.

This hauntingly vivid story illustrates the human spirit’s indomitable search for home, and one girl’s struggle to survive.

This is a case where I am 100% guilty of wanting to read this mainly because I seen a pretty cover! It wasn't until I read the blurb I realised that while the cover may be pretty, the story itself is pretty damn dark and scary. Not horror story scary but scary because this is actually happening in the world!

Michelle is a fourteen year old girl who runs away from home and goes to New York. With the hopes of getting away from her horrible mother and finding a new home with her friend Erica. However, her dreams are crushed when she reaches New York and realises she has no where to go. Then she meets Devon. Michelle thinks all her dreams have came true. Unfortunately, under Devon's good looking, well dressed disguise, lies a monster and Michelle is forced into child prostitution and the lines between  her fantasy family and reality are so blurred that she doesn't realise the danger she is in.

Beautifully Brutal is the best way I can describe the book. Little Peach is the story that is heartbreaking, scary, dark, twisted but beautifully written. Michelle has such an innocent voice and the way she talks about her new "family" I honestly at times forgot about the seedy side of the story.  The authors writing is just flawless and just flows wonderfully never dragging out a scene so the readers gets bored.

The "family" that takes in Michelle has a very interesting dynamic. Devon, comes across as someone who wants to take care of her and make sure she is safe but he is monster. A twisted, sick individual who needs to locked up! Kat is Devon's "girlfriend" and on the outside she comes across as hard but in the inside she hates what she has to do to survive. Then there is Baby. The youngest of the "family" and all I wanted to do was jump into those pages and take her away from that world!

Even though Little Peach is a short book at just over 200 pages. It packs one hell of a punch! The subject of child prostitution is not an easy subject to tackle. It's a very scary though to know that this is happening in our world today! All over the world kids are being forced into the sex trade and at very very young ages. Little Peach focuses on girls in sex trade but both young boys and girls are being forced into this sick world where adults are abusing them. I have a son of 8 years old and just the thought of anything like that happening to kids turns my stomach.

My only problem with this book was the ending! Without giving any spoilers all I will say is that the leaves you with a very open ending! I bloody hates those! So many questions are left unanswered about the characters. If didn't end the way it did, with the readers being left just not knowing what happens then this would have been a perfect read.
