Under The Dust Cover #3

Under The Dust Cover is our new feature where we show case those pretty books we find that have a little bit extra under the dust cover. This won't be a regular feature, just when we stumble upon a book. However, I want you to take part send me pictures of books that you think should be featured send to totallybookalicious(at)hotmail(dot)co (dot)uk

While I was in town on Saturday with one of my besties we went into Waterstones and this caught my eye.
How To Save a Life by Sara Zarr
Sarah, My Lovely Hand Model ;)

I have seen this online a lot. I haven't really read up on the book. However, in Waterstones I was drawn to it. It stands out with white spnie and then when I noticed the lovely purple/lilac hardback I had to have a wee look. The Cover is plan but the spine is super cute and the lilac and silver work really well together. A simple design was it's lovely. The book is now on my wishlist on amazon! :)

One thing I didn't like was the price. Waterstones have seriously over priced this title. It's a US copy they have and are charging £17.99!!! The US Price is $17.99 which is roughly £11/£12.

What do you think?

Title: How To Save A Life
Series: N/A
Author: Sara Zarr
Genre: YA Contemporary, Realistic Fiction

Jill MacSweeney just wishes everything could go back to normal. But ever since her dad died, she’s been isolating herself from her boyfriend, her best friends—everyone who wants to support her. And when her mom decides to adopt a baby, it feels like she’s somehow trying to replace a lost family member with a new one.

Mandy Kalinowski understands what it’s like to grow up unwanted—to be raised by a mother who never intended to have a child. So when Mandy becomes pregnant, one thing she’s sure of is that she wants a better life for her baby. It’s harder to be sure of herself. Will she ever find someone to care for her, too?

As their worlds change around them, Jill and Mandy must learn to both let go and hold on, and that nothing is as easy—or as difficult—as it seems.

  2. At first glance the flowers on the book look like paw prints, I thought it was going to be an animal book until I read the description lol.
