Description:
Sixteen-year-old Keegan is struggling to keep her huge secret from her friends--she's an elf, descended from a long line of elves that live in secrecy alongside humans.

In elfin society, mates are predetermined but not allowed to meet until they are eighteen. Against tradition, Keegan's brother Thaddeus told her Rourk's name because his visions warned him she'd need Rourk's protection, especially since Keegan will play a key role in the coming war between the dark and light elves.

Rourk finds himself drawn to Keegan's side every time she thinks his name. He wants to talk to her but remains in the shadows, silently guarding her every time she mentally beckons him. A twist of fate thrusts the two of them together when Rourk is forced to step up his protection and make his presence known.

An ancient prophecy deeply entwines Keegan's family and the future of their society. Somehow they must find a way to thwart fate and win the battle...without losing Keegan. With war brewing, and dark forces aligning, will Keegan and Rourk ever have the life together that they both desire?

OK, Coexist. I have had this on my kindle since way back last March. And after reading Julia's Freak of Nature (reviewing coming Feb for the Blog Tour) I wanted to read more of her work. However, while I really enjoyed Freak of Nature, Coexist I am still unsure if I liked it or not.

Coexist is told in third person so it jumps around between characters and scenes a lot! I found this very confusing and couldn't really keep track at times.  The story itself skips through time way to quickly. It can skip through nearly 6 months within a paragraph and that always slows down my reading. I understand this happens a lot in books but it just didn't flow right within this story. Some of the characters make no sense at all. You don't know their backstory so it leaves things very confusing. By the end of the book I just didn't like the how it played out, the author puts a twist into it that just didn't feel right.

HOWEVER!!!!!

The concept of Coexist is interesting and completely different. Elves!! I have never read a book with Elves before and it was intriguing. We learn some background on the Elves and I am not usually a big romantic but I liked how their relationships work with other Elves. I also LOVED the Irish connection to the story. I loved Ireland and most things connected to it. So this was wonderful for me.

I also loved Keegan and Rourk. They aren't meant to know about each other until they are both 18 but because Keegan's brother, Thaddeus is a Seer he told Keegan Rourk's name. Rourk feels a pull towards Keegan any time she thinks of him but it is only one way. He is determind to hold off until she is 18 before officially meeting her but it drives him crazy. Which I find adorable. He is 100% in love her and she is with him, even though they have never actually met. They are just both great characters and I feel that they are very easily for the reader to connect with.

As you can see I am just completely torn on my feelings for this book. Even writing this review I thought I would figure how I would feel but.....nope I still have no clue. I liked it and but I didn't lol. I will no doubt continue with the series because I do like the concept and I want to find out what happens next because Julia Crane is very clever and leaves you hanging at the end of the book so you get to the end ad you are like "NOOOOOOOOO, damn it. I NEED book 2" Even though I didn't like the actual ending lol.

If you want something a bit different then please give this a try. There is so many AMAZING reviews for this title and it is very cheap on kindle so it is worth it.

I got this when it was the old cover and it was lovely. But this is just WOW!! I think it is such a beautiful cover. It really is Keegan!!  The font used is soooooooo pretty and different. I loved everything about the cover!!!
