Review:
I had never heard of this book or author until the publisher emailed me asking if I wanted to review it. As soon as I seen the title I was sold! Vampires are my first love and always will be. So I jumped at the chance to review it because there isn't many new vampire series. And I was completely blown away by it.

Dinner with a Vampire is about a teenager Violet, who on a night out she witnesses an awful mass murder and is then kidnapped by a group of men. However, soon Violet learns that the men who have kidnapped her are vampires and those they killed are slayer and she has now been catapulted into a dark world of ancient prophecies, vampire polites and into the arms of a vampire prince.

It took me a few days to get past the first 25 pages of this book. However, that was all me because I am in a weird slump but once I had time to sat down and read with no distractions,  I didn't stop until I was finished. It was 100% Fangtastic (haha). I adored everything and I mean everything. Usually for me no book is perfect but Dinner with a Vampire is perfect to me. The characters, the setting, the exciting plot, It all made for a truely outstanding debut novel.

Violet is such a strong character. She is so stubborn and doesn't makes things easier for herself while being kidnapped. Of course she is terrified, who wouldn't be. Yet when she finds out that vampires are real she takes it in her stride. At first she hates them, especially Kasper. But she forms a friendship with Fabian (another vamp) and Lyla (Kasper's sister). Both are really nice and really try to make Violet feel comfortable. Although like any friendship things can go sour. The relationship between Violet and Kasper is very hot and cold. One minute they hate each other and the next they are all over each other. Kasper is for the most part a "bad boy". He is handsome but very dangerous but there is a really soft and gentle side to him and moments that just made my heart melt. The chemistry between them is so magical and after a horrible event in the story it's a real turning point to their relationship because they form a bond, one that is more than just lust.

The setting to this mainly takes place within Kasper home, Varnley. And there is something about it is just enchanting and magical yet sinister and dark all at the time. The author really made the house feel like it was a character itself. Now the plot to the story is so unique. There is so much going on and a few mini plots within the main story that everything keeps to guessing. I love a story that never slows in pace. And this definitely did that. It was fast paced and so thrilling with a gothic feel to it that I adore. Because I love my vampire stories dark. With proper bloodsucking vampires and that is what this book has.

I want to speak about the cover! I rarely mention covers in a review but I feel like I have to but I am seriously in love with it. I love the the rose, the red blood splatter at the bottom and I think how the black dripping blood is amazing. It's a very simple cover but beautiful and powerful! It matches the story perfectly!

I highly recommend this one to everyone who loves dark vampire novels. It's target audience I would say is for the 16+ because there is quite a few hot and steamy scenes ;) Well done Abigail on writing such a solid debut novel!
