Description:

Everything that happened this past summer, and every summer before it, has all led up to this. To now.

Every year Isabel spends a perfect summer at her family friends' house. There's the swimming pool at night, the private stretch of sandy beach . . . and the two boys. Unavailable, aloof Conrad - who she's been in love with forever - and friendly, relaxed Jeremiah, the only one who's ever really paid her any attention.

But this year something is different. They seem to have noticed her for the first time. It's going to be an amazing summer - and one she'll never forget . . .

Review:
When I was asked to review this I knew right away it would be a book that I would enjoy. However, I never expected to fall completely and utterly in love it. I mean I seriously adored this book from start to finish. It is just a perfect little gem that would be a great summer read. (Sadly I stay in Scotland we get rain lol) And sorry in advance if I ramble or if this doesn't make sense. I just loved it so much that I can't get the words out.

The Summer I Turned Pretty is about Isabel (or Belly as she is nicknamed). Every summer she goes to Cousins with her mother and brother to spend the summer at a family friends beach house. However, this summer is different. Belly is growing up and the two boys who she spends summer with every year finally start to notice her.

Yes, I absolutely love it. The Characters, the plot, the setting just everything. I can't find a negative thing to say about this book and that rarely happens. It was of course the chemistry between the characters that I enjoyed the most. Belly is fifteen and she is adorable. She has been in love with Conrad since the age of 11 but he never noticed her until now. But she also has feeling for Jeremiah just not as much as Conrad. The relationship between the three is full of tension yet most of the time its playful and fun and ith a lot of witty banter. However, there is alot of serious stuff going on in the story aswell. And this causes Conrad to start being distant and he start drinking and smoking and just being a pain but it's understand. Jeremiah is so sweet. He really cares for Belly even though he knows she is in love with his brother, Conrad.

The Summer I Turned Pretty is one of those great, fun YA contemporary romance novels that suck you in. I couldn't help but loving every second. It is most definitely a coming of age story for Belly. And I think that most teenager can related to this in a way. Especially girls because it is all about growing up, taking control and having that certain point in your life when boys start to notice you. I remember going through this and I remember the time when boys finally starting to take notice of me, In school I wasn't popular or smart or pretty. However, I remember when I started college I have no idea what happened but I remember a change. I honestly I think it was mostly because I was taking control just like Belly did. So I think this could have a very positive impact on many teenage girls.

Do I recommend it? Oh My G, I whole heartly do! If you like contemporary fiction then this is a must read. It has it all, it's cute, fun, has two very swoonworthy brothers but it also deals with a lot of serious issues that makes the book more real. It has me laughing and crying it was just perfect.

If you have read this book, let me what you thought? Have you reviewed the book? Please leave your link befow in the comments I would love to check it out.

  3. I really enjoyed reading your review on this book...now I want to get my hands on this book. Lol. I remember when I "turned pretty" it was my Freshman year in high school, but I wasn't comfortable with my looks until my Senior year. To this day, I still struggle with my image. Anyway, this was a really good review!! :)
