UK vs US: Eye of the Tempest

Photobucket

Most of you know I have been doing this since I started the blog. I love comparing different covers for the same book. So now that there is two of us on the blog I thought I would actually make it a regular feature on a Monday and a Friday. And since Destiny is from the US and Siobhan is from the UK it would even better. So here is todays UK vs US.

Destiny's Pick
UK                                                          US

Eye of the Tempest (Jane True #4)by Nicole Peeler
UK: 6th Oct 2011
US: Out Now

Nothing says 'home' like being attacked by humans with very large guns, as supernatural halfling Jane True discovers when she arrives in Rockabill. These are professionals, brought in to kill, and they bring her love interest Anyan down before either of them can react. Seeing Anyan fall awakens a terrible power within Jane, and she nearly destroys herself taking out their attackers. Jane wakes, weeks later, to discover that she's not the only thing that's been stirring. Something underneath Rockabill is coming to life: something ancient, something powerful, and something that just might destroy the world. Jane and her friends must act, striking out on a quest that only Jane can finish. For whatever lurks beneath the waters of the Old Sow must be stopped ...and Jane's just the halfling for the job.
Destiny: For me, I love the colors of the UK cover and the font is fantastic, but the overall cover doesn't pick up the wit and snark of Nicole Peeler's series. The US covers seem to really capture your attention and seem more vibrant. The scenes on the US covers are so eye catching and make you want to pick up the book and see what it's about. I would be drawn to the US cover a million times over on this one!!

Siobhan: OK I have never read this series before. But I have heard alot of great things about how funny it is. And as much I do like the UK cover. I'm going with the US and agreeing with Destiny. This cover seems to fit better with story and is quite eye catching and kinda quirky. :)

Winner: US

  4. I do not know much of this series myself to be honest. To start with the UK cover caught my eye and I would stick with that one myself:)
