Review:
My friend loaned me her copy of this book and I was excited to read it. Having being totally in love with movie. I had real high hope. However, I was slightly disappointed.

The Notebook is a love story about a man and woman who after fourteen years apart are reunited and fall in love all over again. Seems like a great premise for a love story. However, it just doesn't come across as believable. The characters lacked the passion that you would expected from this love story. Noah, comes over a bit simple, still pined after a girl spent a few weeks with when he was boy. Allie, just came across are very selfish, leaving her fiance just two weeks before her wedding to go visit Noah. I just didn't seem believable to me.

Nicholas Sparks has a world wide fan based. Honestly I don't understand why. He goes into far too much details about the smallest and more boring thing. Making me quiet a few times really fall asleep.

However, I pushed through the book and it wasn't till near enough the end that I began to like it and I was a bubbling mess. And I mean proper snot tears. I had to stop reading a few times because I couldn't even see from tears. So by the end I did like the story and now I am looking forward to reading more of Sparks work.

  1. I loved this book, but I read it before I watched the film. I think it's a lovely story but maybe one that I do like the film ever so slightly more.

  2. I also loved this book and read it before I watched the movie(which I also loved). Nicholas Sparks books go along with his movies pretty well. I loved Message in a Bottle and A Walk to Remember. Both great books and movies. Do read the book before the movie with this author, you will not be disappointed.
