Description:
When Harley and Jason decide to fake date, they uncover a school of deceptions. Trent's got a secret, but so does Jason. And the more time Harley spends secretly kissing her fake boyfriend, the further she gets from her dreams with Trent.
Worst of all, Harley's mom is getting cozy with her hot massage therapy student, and even Harley's Reverend Dad can't fake not being bothered by it. But when the masks finally come off, can everyone handle the real truth?

The Truth About Faking I went into with no expectations, I didn't read reviews because lately when I read reviews before I read a book I usually end up disappointed. So I was pleasantly surprised when I enjoyed this book although it has some serious flaws.

It follows Harley, a teenager who is determined to get her dream boy, Trent. But new boy at school, Jason ruins everything when he asked Harley out in front of Trent. So in a bid to win Trent, Harley decides to fake date Jason. Although soon she is torn between her feelings for Trent and what she may feel for Jason.

The Truth About Faking is a really quick and fun read. For the most part the characters are likeable although quite annoying and immature. Harley is meant to be a senior in school but at times she comes across like a 13 year old brat. Her best friend, Shelly, is a sorry excuse for a friend. That's all I am saying on her. Jason, now Jason is adorable, he liked Harley and at first he is willing to go along with her ridiculous plan of fake dating. Even though he doesn't want to be faking it. Trent, is a total bore!! He gets more interesting near the end but that's about it.

The plot is so unrealistic, fake dating a boy you have only known a day. Life doesn't work like that. Fake dating anyone is just silly. Don't get me wrong, it was enjoyable and fun. Perfect for light read. However, I prefer my books to have more of a realistic feel when it comes to human emotions and behaviour. The author though does manage to throw in a some very serious issues and tackles them well. There is a lot of drama around Harley's mothers and how rumours can change people's life's in a small town.

If you are looking for quick read then give this a try. It is fun, light and sweet. I am looking forward to reading more of the authors work.
