Description:
WARNING: Sexual references, occassional coarse language. When sixteen year old Poppy Douglas writes a song about her ex-boyfriend Cam and ex-friend Nikki, she has no idea that her heartbreak is about to go global.  A local band picks up her song from Youtube and soon she’s along for the ride with her own fanbase as they blow up on the local club scene and hit the international charts. Though it turns out leaving Cam behind isn’t as easy as she had hoped. Tangled in a web of unfinished homework, ill-considered sexting and a new lead-singer boyfriend, Poppy has a choice to make between the ex that inspired it all and the rock God whose poster lines the inside of half the lockers at school. But as she struggles to keep her emotional dirty laundry private, she learns that the truth can be hard to find when your life is in the headlines.

Review:
The Kiss Off is a really fun quick read. I didn't have any exceptions because lately when I do they are rarely met. So I went into this without reading any reviews. And I really enjoyed it. However, I found the ending to be slightly disappoint.

The Kiss Off is about teenager Poppy, who finds out her boyfriend cheats on her with one of her friends she decides to write a song and share it on youtube. This is just her way to venting her anger but soon she realises just how popular her song is. And when a local band do a cover of her song, her life changes. She starts dating the lead singer Ty but things aren't plan sailing as she is about to discover when Ty becomes an international star.

I loved Poppy, she is funny and kick ass. And she is a singer/song writer. I think many teenage girls will like her and maybe even admire her. Right now, there is a growing popularity on youtube among singers and its a good way to get noticed. So Poppy will be relatable to the youtube generation. When she meets Ty the story really takes off. And its hilarious. I won't say much just that it involves a randy dog (later names Poo Bum) and it will have you in stitches. Ty, aww he is adorable, He is a musician, singer in a band, sweet and good looking who wouldn't like him. And he adores Poppy. They are so cute together. Now Cam, Poppy's ex who cheated on her. I actually did like him. Well not at first but as the story developed I did.

The plot itself is wonderful. It has a mix of everything in it to make a good YA read. It's fun, fast paced but also deals with a lot more serious issues such as underage drinking, relationships and cheating. My only negative with the plot was the ending. It just didn't feel right with the story and for me it just wasn't believable. But I am really looking forwar to the next book and finding out more about Poppy.

I do highly recommend The Kiss Off if you are looking for something a little different that is a quick read and packed with Humour. And fans of books like Audrey Wait are going to really enjoy this one.
