Nicola Marsh's Busted in Bollywood BLOG TOUR Guest Post + Giveaway!

Today at Totally Bookalicious we are pleased to welcome the lovely Nicola Marsh, author of Busted in Bollywood, who will be telling us more about her new book and introducing us to Bolly-Bites! Without further ado, here is Nicola:

Great to be here at Totally Bookalicious chatting about my Bollylicious book, BUSTED IN BOLLYWOOD.

BUSTED IN BOLLYWOOD is a contemporary romance/romantic comedy/chicklit/
women’s fiction novel. Filled with Bollylicious food!

Shari Jones needs to get a life. Preferably someone else’s.

Single, homeless and jobless, Indo-American Shari agrees to her best friend’s whacky
scheme: travel to Mumbai, pose as Amrita, and ditch the fiancé her traditional Indian
parents have chosen. Simple. Until she’s mistaken for a famous Bollywood actress,
stalked by a Lone Ranger wannabe, courted by an English lord, and busted by the
blackmailing fiancé.

Life is less complicated in New York.

Or so she thinks, until the entourage of crazies follows her to the Big Apple and that’s
when the fun really begins. Shari deals with a blossoming romance, an addiction to
Indian food and her first movie role, while secretly craving another trip to the mystical
land responsible for sparking her new lease on life. Returning to her Indian birthplace,
she has an epiphany. Maybe the happily-ever-after of her dreams isn’t so far away?

Think ‘Sex and the City’ meets ‘Eat, Pray, Love.’ With food. Loads of food!

Today’s Bollylicious BOLLY-BITE recipe is one of my favourite desserts. Kulfi is rich and sweet and a small amount goes a long way! My dad makes the most divine kulfi and today I’m sharing with you his super quick easyversion (one where you don’t have to stand over the stove and boil the milk down for ages!)

1 tin sweetened condensed milk
500ml (just over 2 cups) cream
2 tbspns almond meal
4 cardamoms (peeled and pounded to powder)
4 drops kewra essence
Pistachio nuts, chopped, for garnish

(Serves 8)

Mix all the ingredients (except pistachios, though if you like nutty icecream you can add
extra and mix through.)

Place in mould.

Sprinkle chopped pistachios on top.

(Any mould can be used. We use a rectangular casserole dish. Ice cream will be super
hard when comes out of freezer to leave out a few minutes before serving to facilitate
ease of cutting into portions.
Cardamom powder can be used as a substitute though cardamom pods best.
Kewra essence is available in Asian stores.)

Like the sound of this? There are loads more in the book!

Kulfi is my favorite ice-cream.
