You think it's safe to walk alone at night. It's not.

You think the only threat is other humans. It's not.

Monsters are real. Demons are real. Vampires are real.

And I'm about to become one of them.

My name is Arianna Spero. I was an ordinary girl, living an ordinary life, until my mother lapsed into a coma. Now, I am her only hope. She made a deal with the devil, and on my 18th birthday he came to collect. But there's a way to save her. There's something the princes of hell want more than my mother.

Me.

So I signed my soul away and promised to pick a prince to marry. I would take the blood oath, become one of them, and give them an heir. I would become a princess of hell, and my mother would live.

I expected fire and brimstone. I expected pain and misery. I didn't expect beauty. I didn't expect magic.

I didn't expect love.

But the princes are keeping secrets from me.

Secrets that could shatter everything.

I'm struggling with this one. I bought it on a whim because of an advert of Facebook that said it was "Twilight Meets Outlander". So I thought it sounded really good. And it was an OK read. However, it isn't even in the same league is Twilight or Outlander and is seriously nothing like them at all.

The story focuses on Ari. Her mums lapses into a coma and in order to save her mum she basically sells her souls to the Princes of Hell for all eternity and must choose one of the princes to marry and become Queen of Hell.

Now the start of this book started out great. I got the sample and was really exciting to read the rest so I bought it. Sadly, after the first few chapters things just didn't go well. I ended up finding Ari to be such an annoying characters. I wanted to slap her silly. She is going through so much crap and yet it doesn't even seem to bother her at all which is rather strange. Most of the characters are just as annoying. With the exception of Fen and E! Fen and his trusty wolf, Baron. Lordy. I would sell my soul to be with him!! He is strong and scary. He is loyal and I wouldn't want to get on his bad side. Baron the wolf. Awwww I want one. He hates everyone apart from Fen until Ari arrives and the wolf just loves her (God knows why though). And the there was E. I just loved her. She was full of sass and I was disappointed she wasn't in the story more.

The plot itself is intriguing and at the beginning it does draws you in. I think it does have potential to be a good YA fantasy series. However, the story telling is so choppy that it was confusing! I found myself having to go back and forth reading certain passages because it seemed to me like it all over the place. It just didn't flow right. I want my story to flow almost like magical. I want to be engrossed by the story that I forget everything around. And unfortunately Vampire Girl just doesn't have that draw for me.

And let's not get started on the title and cover! I know they say don't judge a book by its cover. But it just not original at all. I want be wowed by a cover and this just doesn't do it for me. The title is just so boring. It could have been something so much better

I feel like I'm just telling you everything I didn't like and while I wasn't really a big fan as it does come across to be a bit immature for me. I will say that is concept is interesting. Demons/vampires not original but the author throws in their own twist on it. I love the Hell aspect of story. I wanted to spend more time in the realms. Hopefully we get to explore those in future books. For me the start of book and the end of book are the best bits. The start draws you in. And it is very quick read even if it's a choppy. The middle was a bit of bore feast I'm not going to lie but it picks up near the end and we get some kickass action. I will read the next one because it ends on a cliffhanger and I want to see if the story gets any better.

Do I recommend Vampire Girl? I wouldn't say "go rush out and buy it" but as this is the first book in a new series that has the potential to be a good series I would say pick it up and give it a try. My opinion is just one of many and there are so many people who adore this book. It just sadly wasn't a favourite for me personally.
