Description:Caroline still dreams about West. His warm skin, his taut muscles, his hand sliding down her stomach. Then she wakes up and she's back to reality: West is gone. Before he left, he broke her heart. Then, out of the blue, West calls in crisis. A tragedy has hit his family-a family that's already a fractured mess. Caroline knows what she has to do. Without discussion, without stopping to think, she's on a plane, flying to his side to support him in any way he needs.Though they are together once more, things are totally different. West looks edgy, angry at the world. Caroline doesn't fit in. She should be back in Iowa, finalizing her civil suit against the ex-boyfriend who posted their explicit pictures on a revenge porn website. But here she is. Deeply into West, wrapped up in him, in love with him. Still. They fought the odds once. Losing each other was hard. But finding their way back to each other couldn't be harder.
Harder by Robin York is the sequel to Deeper. I really enjoyed Harder. So much so I devoured the whole book in one. Which is a rare thing for me lately. Harder is addictive, exciting and freaking sexy!!
Harder is set a few months after Deeper. West is back home in Silts and Caroline is still trying to get over him. However, when West calls her late one night she drops everything and goes to him. However, West has changed. He is harder, not the West she remembers but Caroline refuses to believe that her West is no longer there. Thrown together again Caroline and West embark on yet another crazy ride. Drama, Drama, Drama!
Caroline and West. I loved them and hated them at the same time. Together they are adorable. Both really strong characters and have such interesting stories to tell. However, at times they both drove me insane. Caroline even though she is very independent, at some points she came across slightly stalkerish and a doormat. West is very protective and caring especially towards his little sister but he could come across as a bit of an ass. They way he treats Caroline at one point was so messed up that I wanted to kill him and shake her and tell her to get a grip!
The story itself was addictive. I devoured it within one day. Lately It has been taking me a few days sometimes weeks to read a book but the plot and chemistry between all the characters is engaging. And really keeps you hooked. Harder comes across as a lot more grown up than Deeper. Deeper tackles a serious issue called "Revenge Porn" but in Harder we see the characters facing even more problems and issues that really make you feel for them.
