Samantha Young is without a doubt one of my favourite authors. I adore her "On Dublin Street" Series. So of course I jumped at the chance to review her new book. However, even though I did enjoy it I just felt it didn't have the same pull that her other books have.
Hero is a very intense read. And very fast paced once I got into it. I found myself struggling to get into the story at beginning but once I got around the 50 page mark I was completely hooked onto the story.
Alexa and Caine are two characters that have had a tough life but they don't let it stop them getting what they want. I am on the fence when it comes to our two main characters. At times the both come across has very hard working individuals who are very head strong. Yet at other times they irritated me. They come across to me as a little immature considering their age. Together though? My God! They are intense and captivating and god damn sexy as hell!!
The story itself, as mentioned above took me a while to get into but after I did I was completely drawn into the story. I found myself needing to know more and more about these characters and their background. Some times I find the back story of a character the most intriguing part. Knowing what makes them tick and why they are the way they are is just fascinating.
Hero is a very good read and perfect for those who like an intense romance with plenty of sexy times! I am one of those people who like intense relationships that aren't perfect. It comes across more real to me. The build up in the story is fantastic and really grips the reader. However, I will admit I found the ending just a little bit rush. As I was reading I could sense the build up to something big, it was exciting and thrilling but then all of sudden it was over and just felt a little anti climatic to me.
If you are a fan of Samantha Young then this is a must read!! I am not sure if it's a stand alone or part of series but either way it's a must read. Packed with steamy romance, awesome characters and a gripping storyline.
