John Smith is not your average teenager. He regularly moves from small town to small town. He changes his name and identity. He does not put down roots. He cannot tell anyone who or what he really is. If he stops moving those who hunt him will find and kill him. But you can't run forever. So when he stops in Paradise, Ohio, John decides to try and settle down. To fit in. And for the first time he makes some real friends. People he cares about - and who care about him. Never in John's short life has there been space for friendship, or even love. But it's just a matter of time before John's secret is revealed. He was once one of nine. Three of them have been killed. John is Number Four. He knows that he is next.

Just fantastic! I started this yesterday afternoon and finished it last night. I was hooked from page one and I only stop when I was out visiting a family friend. If I hadn't been out I would have devoured it in one sitting.

I am Number Four jumps straight into action from the few pages. It grabs your attentions and keeps it until very end. The story follows John (Number Four) and Henri his Guardian as they try to live an as close to normal life. However, they are always moving and have to keep moving or else they will be found. When they come to Ohio John finally finds a place he where he wants to stay.

John at only Fifteen seems quite mature and very likeable. Ok so yeah he is an Alien but he seems like the boy next door type. He feels strongly about protecting the ones he loves and this is something I really admire about his character. He and Henri are a great pair and they love each other and care for each other. When John starts school he quick becomes friends with Sam, a loveable geek who believes in Aliens. John also attracts the attention of Sarah, a former cheerleader who is a really nice person and they soon become an item and they are just adorable together. However, because of Sarah, Mark her ex boyfriends starts to bully John. Mark is your typical high school Jerk.

Having really different characters makes the story very easy to read as there is something for everyone.

Even though its a Sci-Fi novels. It will be enjoyed but those who don't like Sci-Fi as there isn't really alot of proper sci-fi elements apart from the fact the main character is an alien. It's a fast read that will have you wanted more and more.
